Feedback is one of the most powerful tools for employee development. Feedback is information about a person’s performance of a task. Although in principle this is something that everybody would like to hear, in real life this is not the case. The most important obstacle is fear of person’s reaction when they hear something that they might not like. This is also influenced by lack of feedback skills, which results in feedback sounding like “criticism”.
The most important goal of constructive feedback is to motivate people to be better, to improve their knowledge and skills.
